This Women’s Day we celebrate women as they are – in their own rhythm, in their own way.
Confidence does not always need to be loud. Often it lives in quiet everyday moments: a slow morning at home, a familiar routine, clothes that feel just right. At Gauhar Helsinki, we believe that what we wear should support who we are, not change us.
For the occasion, we sat down with a few women from the Gauhar Helsinki community to talk confidence, everyday life and the moments when they feel most like themselves.
WHEN DO YOU FEEL MOST LIKE YOURSELF?

When I am wearing something truly comfortable yet stylish.

I feel most like myself at home, in my pyjamas, sitting in front of the TV with a knitting project. In that moment there is no need to perform or be anything else – I can simply be and slow down.

With comfortable clothes.
WHAT DOES (QUIET) CONFIDENCE MEAN TO YOU?
Thia
It means that I do not have to consider or think about what I'm wearing when I am working or enjoying a day off. That I can go about my business, and trust that my clothes, accessories and makeup takes me thru the day without having to adjust or worry about one or all of the above.
Emma
To me, confidence means feeling comfortable in my own body. When I feel good as myself, it naturally shows outward as well. Clothes are part of that feeling. When they are comfortable, high quality and fit well, they create a sense of quiet confidence.
Veronica
It means not worrying about what others think.
HOW DO CLOTHES INFLUENCE THE WAY YOU FEEL IN YOU EVERYDAY LIFE?
Thia
If I wear something too tight or an uncomfortable non breathing fabric I feel uneasy, and tend to tug on, and try to adjust my garments throughout the day. That can be very stressful and takes up alot of energy.
And when I wear something that feels nice on the skin, and the fit is just right, it makes me feel at ease and boosts my confidence. Some nice accessories to finish the look is absolutely required!

I work in healthcare, so during the workday I don’t get to choose what I wear. That’s why clothes have a special meaning for me in my free time. I want to dress in quality pieces that truly feel like me and that I feel comfortable in.
